Data back efficacy of inhaled insulin in diabetes care

Inhaled insulin was as effective as rapid acting analog insulin in improving A1C and fared better in reducing body weight, fasting plasma glucose and hypoglycemic events in type 1 diabetes patients, researchers reported at the ADA 74th Scientific Sessions. The treatment also outperformed placebo in regulating postmeal glucose spikes in insulin-naive type 2 diabetes patients, another study showed.
