First lady advocates for schools to teach cooking

As first lady Michelle Obama defends the school-nutrition regulations she helped usher in, she announced a proposal Wednesday to introduce "survival skills" in schools that would include lessons in cooking, nutrition, finance and more. The proposal, which is in the beginning stages, could include teaching cooking skills in after-school programs.
