N.C. to expand use of opioid overdose prevention program

A community-based program to prevent opioid overdoses was successful in Wilkes County, N.C., and will be used statewide, pain experts told the International Conference on Opioids. Project Lazarus focuses on public awareness, an active coalition and the monitoring of data. Pain management education is geared toward health care professionals, along with support for pain patients and addiction treatment.
