NIH Pain Consortium shares study guidelines on chronic lower back pain

New standards to guide research into chronic lower back pain were released by the NIH Pain Consortium based on work done by a multidisciplinary task force. The guidelines, which should be reflected in NIH grant proposals, suggest using two questions to define chronic lower back pain and classifying it by intensity, interference and physical function.
