Health care miniclinics present opportunities, concerns

Miniclinics that have been popping up in retail outlets have some concerned about quality of care and corporate control. For many nurse practitioners, the concept has presented a unique business opportunity, since most of the clinics are staffed by NPs. However, some fear the corporate control of the clinics could result in an electronic medical records system that dictates every action a nurse needs to take.
