Boston hospital to connect physician offices to EHR

Three hundred physicians in 150 New England practices will be able to share patient health information by 2010, thanks to a project by Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center that will begin by connecting four local physician offices to its 3 million-record EHR. The hospital is committing about $50,000 per physician to facilitate the adoption of the EHR.
