City blasts U.S. effort to regulate London oil market

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Tuesday announced an effort to require the ICE Europe exchange in London to disclose information on the trading of oil futures. The Financial Services Authority said it could reject the suggestion, while Stuart Fraser, the City's policy chief, called it "American imperialism." "We are trying to work with the Americans on this kind of thing to help reduce manipulation, but that requires a partnership approach," he said.
