Conservative gathering could signal looming breakup of Anglican Church

Hundreds of conservative Anglican bishops say they will skip the once-a-decade Lambeth Conference in favor of a rival meeting being held in Jerusalem because of the U.S. and Canadian branches' acceptance of a gay bishop and blessing of same-sex unions. The move "is the most explicit threat that some conservatives are prepared to break from the Anglican Communion, the world's third largest affiliation of Christian churches, with 77 million members," according to this article.
