FAO: World has pledged $11.5 billion against food crisis

Food and Agriculture Organization director-general Jacques Diouf said the United Nations would take steps to definitively address the food crisis. A crucial topic at the ongoing FAO conference in Kenya is stabilizing sub-Saharan African agriculture and irrigation, so that weather patterns do not dictate food production.
