Passengers say airline merger would result in illegal monopoly

A group of 28 airline passengers has filed a lawsuit in San Francisco alleging that the proposed merger between Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines would result in "higher ticket prices and diminished service" if approved. The passengers' lawsuit alleges that the resulting airline would control nearly a quarter of all domestic flights, giving it a monopolistic grip on the sector.
