U.K. prime minister supports presumed consent for organ donation

U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown said he supports the idea of presumed consent for organ donation. "A system of this kind seems to have the potential to close the aching gap between the potential benefits of transplant surgery in the United Kingdom and the limits imposed by our current system of consent," Brown wrote in a newspaper column. Meanwhile, the Assembly Health, Wellbeing and Local Government Committee of Wales is considering witness input on presumed consent today.
