Harris poll shows slow penetration for Blu-ray players

Just 7% of U.S. households own a Blu-ray disc player while 11% have an HD DVD machine, the format that was rendered obsolete by Blu-ray, according to a Harris Interactive poll that was conducted in April. The survey, however, did show that the percentage of Americans with a Blu-ray player has trended upward since May 2008, when 4% of respondents said they owned a Blu-ray.
