Union: Rhee fires 250 D.C. teachers, including 80 with experience

Teachers in Washington, D.C., began to receive termination letters this week as schools chief Michelle A. Rhee began firing teachers for poor performance or not having a teaching license, union officials said. While 60 of the teachers were new and already on probation, about 80 were experienced educators.
