Agreement slashes N.Y.'s $5.2B Tappan Zee project by $450M

An agreement with labor unions that could be working on New York's new Tappan Zee Bridge will lower the $5.2 billion price tag by an estimated $450 million. The savings will be incorporated into the bids from four teams that were shortlisted for the project, according to Tom Madison, the executive director of the Thruway Authority.
