CFTC accuses ABN Amro affiliate of mishandling customer accounts

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has fined an affiliate of ABN Amro Bank $1 million for allegedly mishandling customer accounts from March 2009 to January 2012. State-owned ABN Amro is settling the allegations without admitting or denying wrongdoing, the CFTC said. The bank's broker division had a nearly $100 million shortfall just weeks before the collapse of MF Global, the CFTC said.
