Fla. governor signs bill reforming cost recovery law

Legislation that contains revisions to Florida's nuclear cost recovery law was signed by Gov. Rick Scott. Under the changes, a utility's ability to recoup from its customers costs associated with new nuclear projects will be limited. "We continue to believe the legislation is not required," a Duke Energy spokesman said. "The law is working for our customers because nuclear power has already saved Floridians billions of dollars and is also one of the reasons why our customers pay significantly less than the national average for power," he said.
