Frutarom eyes functional foods and new markets

Swiss-Israeli ingredients manufacturer Frutarom plans to expand into functional foods, with applications such as yerba mate in drinks, green oat extract in bars and purslane in chocolate, and to develop a presence in new markets like Asia and the U.S. "Our biggest advantage is that we can deliver healthy ingredients in formats that taste good due to our flavors experience and expertise," said functional food segment manager Valerie Barrois.
