LEED 4 changes could prompt shift to alternative green-rating systems

This month, the U.S. Green Building Council will vote on proposed amendments to its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards. LEED 4 may include provisions that give higher points to projects that minimize the use of certain chemicals -- including titanium oxide. This has prompted several trade groups to lobby Congress for the use of green-rating systems other than LEED.
