N.J. fifth-graders turn classroom into beach in lesson on ecosystems

As part of science lessons on ecosystems, fifth-grade teacher Maggie Dugan takes her students on a field trip to the beach where they gather shells, seaweed and other materials. They then recreate the beach in their classroom at Upper Township Elementary School in Marmora, N.J., sharing what they have learned about the Jersey Shore environment with their parents and other classroom visitors.
