Nvidia's IP licensing plan boosts stock; AMD isn't following suit

Investors bid up the stock of Nvidia after the IC design company revealed plans to license its graphics processing unit intellectual property to other companies. "If there was ever a way for Nvidia to get into Apple, the IP licensing angle is likely it," Hans Mosesmann of Raymond James wrote in a research note. Meanwhile, a spokesman for Advanced Micro Devices said the company has no plans to license its graphics processing IP to other companies.
