Researchers study checklist for end-of-life care talks

The Ariadne Labs project, created by Dr. Atul Gawande at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, is studying a seven-question guide that physicians can use in talking with patients about end-of-life care. The checklist is similar to those used in surgery and childbirth. Gawande said the idea is to find ways that simple systems can address complex issues with significant results.
