RFA's Dinneen: Producing more oil won't necessarily drive down fuel prices

The oil industry's contention that increased domestic fossil fuel production makes it unnecessary to continue making ethanol is a "new twist" to the old myths spread by opponents of biofuels, said Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen. Ramping up domestic oil production won't lead to a significant reduction in retail fuel prices, Dinneen stated. The only way for consumers to get relief at the pump is for competitively priced biofuels to enter the market, he said.
