Women's snacking isn't motivated by health

Health is not a significant factor in snacking for women in the U.S. and Europe, according to a study by Canadean. Among factors influencing snacking choices, health ranks 11th, with indulgence taking first place. "The fact that indulgence and personal space and time are ranked as the key motivations in our survey shows that snacking, above all else, is about treating oneself," said Ronan Stafford, a Canadean analyst.
