Quirky pitches app-controlled cooler in weather reports

Quirky is selling its Aros air conditioner unit through ads delivered by New York and Boston weather forecasts when temperatures rise above 75 degrees. Poncho is providing the service, which it claims has an e-mail open rate of 60%, with 90% of text messages being read. The air conditioner was developed with GE and can be controlled with a mobile application.
