Researchers explore stem cell therapy for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

Mayo Clinic researchers will conduct an early-stage clinical trial of the use of stem cells to stop the progression of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Autologous modified fat-derived mesenchymal stem cells will be infused through a spinal tap to promote nerve cell survival.
