Commentary: Snack foods in schools often there to stay

New Jersey's new ban on certain snack foods in schools was successful because, "We didn't talk about good food or bad food... We tried to stick with science," said Jeff Beach, a spokesman for the New Jersey Department of Agriculture. A similar effort in Connecticut failed when that state's governor vetoed a bill that pulled snack foods from schools.
