Hawaii braces for influx of visitors

Hawaii's tourism industry expects to welcome 8 million visitors to the islands in 2008, and while the news is cause for celebration to some, others worry about the state's ability to handle the numbers without compromising its natural resources or the quality of life. Airline capacity to Hawaii continues to increase, with about 2.7 million seats planned for June, July and August of this year, a 10.8% increase over the same period in 2004.
