Report: Africa has world's lowest Internet penetration

Africa's Internet penetration is just 1.5%, compared with about 50% overall in developed countries, according to a report by Research and Markets. The report did note that certain countries have made strides, most notably Reunion, Seychelles, Tunisia and South Africa. A separate report by Research and Markets says Africa is the world's fastest-growing mobile phone market, a trend that has resulted from low fixed-line deployment.
