BP still holds a strong financial position despite the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, said Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg. "The company is strong, the company has strong underlying performance -- strong cash flow, strong operations," he said during an interview. Svanberg added that after the leak has been contained, spill management would be transferred from CEO Tony Hayward to Managing Director Bob Dudley.
