A growing number of restaurants find that sustainability initiatives aren't just aiding the environment -- they're also adding to the bottom line. Eateries are realizing cost savings across their operations, from sourcing lower-cost ingredients from local producers to adding Green Seal-certified energy-saving freezers and restroom fixtures that use less water. The Green Seal "provides science-based environmental certification standards that are credible, transparent and essential in an increasingly educated and competitive marketplace."
