Maryland residents opt for exotic pets

Residents in Pasadena, Md., have a preference for unique pets, such as ferrets, miniature goats and potbellied pigs. One area veterinarian said exotic pets are popular because they are easy to care for and seem to adapt in smaller settings. Another veterinarian said owners of exotic pets have researched the breeds or are just fascinated with the animals without knowing about proper care.
