Program focuses on communication skills of students with autism

At Chapel Haven West, a residential program for young adults with mild developmental disabilities in Tucson, Ariz., learning to socialize is a key focus. Many of the school's students have Asperger's syndrome or other disorders on the autism spectrum, which have made it difficult for them to develop and maintain social relationships. The school's program offers them courses in practical skills as well as social communication and aims to transition them into living on their own.
