BNSF honored for support of minority-owned businesses

BNSF was honored by the Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Supplier Development Council for its efforts in helping minority-owned businesses in Texas. "Minority- and women-owned businesses are important to companies like BNSF as they provide new approaches and ideas for how we conduct business," said Paul Bischler, BNSF vice president and chief sourcing officer. Meanwhile, the railroad also named 109 shippers as the recipients of the 16th annual Product Stewardship Award for their rail-safety accomplishments in 2012 and appointed Zak Anderson as vice president of corporate relations.
