Conn. landscaper sees green from solar-powered lawn equipment

A landscape business in Madison, Conn., has harnessed energy from the sun to power its equipment, saving on fuel costs. Bob Blundon, founder of Madison Earth Care, installed solar panels on the roof of his trailer to generate electricity that would recharge the batteries of landscaping equipment. "Where we're seeing the cost is in labor savings: not going to the gas station, filling cans and that kind of thing, as well as not using any fuel," Blundon said.
