MEMS technology pushes into medical devices

Microelectromechanical system devices are turning up in more medical products. Proteus Digital Health, for example, has developed a MEMS-like sensor in a pill that can be swallowed to monitor the effects of medication. Proteus has set up a 200-millimeter wafer-scale MEMS fab in Hayward, Calif., to make the digital pills.
