NBCT: How teachers can take their seats among decision-makers

Teachers should be stakeholders who shape education policies, National Board Certified Teacher Alison Crowley writes in this blog post. Crowley, a math teacher from Kentucky who recently found herself as the only teacher at a conference about the Common Core State Standards, offers some tips to help teachers take their seats at the table. She suggests teachers remember they are not "just" teachers and to focus on students. They should not be intimidated and they should maintain their passion while putting aside their emotions, Crowley writes.
