Report: Self-insurance trend could cause problems for small firms

More small businesses are turning to self-insurance instead of traditional insurance to try to bring down costs, a common strategy among large businesses. A recent report shows that small businesses that self-insure may be placing themselves and their employees at risk, as self-insuring will only help save money if "employee groups remain young and healthy."
