RFA, others defend RFS from attack by chain restaurant group

The Renewable Fuels Association and other ethanol industry groups are criticizing the National Council of Chain Restaurants' campaign to dismantle the Renewable Fuel Standard. The group's action is "yet another campaign of scare tactics and half-truths" about the RFS, the RFA said. "It is a well-documented fact that there is a near perfect correlation between food prices and energy costs. The World Bank recently concluded that almost two-thirds of the post-2004 food price increase is attributable to the price of oil," said RFA President and CEO Bob Dinneen.
