Social media and trade shows make a powerful 1-2 punch

Marketers can creatively combine live events such as trade shows with social media promotions, Timothy Carter writes. For example, entry into prize contests at shows could be made contingent upon collecting a code for plugging into social sites at the trade show booth. Take advantage of QR codes to nab visitors on the fly, and use event pages and blogs to promote the event, even after the show's over, Carter writes.
