Natural foods spur sales growth for Kroger

Kroger reported a 4% rise in profits during the most recent quarter and sales increased by 10% to almost $33 billion, boosted by double-digit growth in natural foods and a strong performance by the chain's private-label Simple Truth brand. The company has increased its sales and performance forecasts for this year, despite a 2.5% year-over-year increase in overall food prices in May reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
