SpaceShipOne on way toward suborbital flight attempt

SpaceShipOne took off as scheduled from the Mojave desert this morning, propelled aloft by its carrier airplane, White Knight, on its way toward the first privately funded suborbital space flight. "I believe within 10 to 15 years there will be affordable suborbital flights like the one you see today," said Burt Rutan, the spacecraft's lead designer.
