AMA report says antidepressants safe for teens

A report by the American Medical Association's Council on Scientific Affairs says antidepressants such as Prozac are safe for young people and should remain available, despite the FDA's concerns about reports of suicidal behavior among teenagers who use the drugs. The AMA report, released at the group's meeting in Chicago, was endorsed by delegates from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
