Gates Foundation to fund development of rapid TB test

Proteome Systems, a biotech based in Sydney, Australia, is set to receive the backing of a foundation funded by Bill Gates to conduct research into a possible test for tuberculosis. The Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics said it would cover the cost of developing the test, conducting clinical trials and registering Proteome's rapid diagnostic test that relies on antigens for determining the presence of TB and measuring the severity of its infection within 3 minutes.
