Sensor holds promise for patients with brain injuries

Scientists at the University of Cincinnati are developing a prototype of a sensor designed to track comatose patients who suffered traumatic brain damage and eventually could prove useful in delivering drugs to treat blood clots or tumors in the brain. The implantable device uses small sensors and a catheter to measure brain markers such as blood temperature and intracranial pressure.
