Baby is first patient in Utah to undergo incompatible heart transplant

A 4-month-old boy was the first in Utah to undergo transplant of a heart that came from a donor with an unmatched blood type. The method has started to gain acceptance since 2001, when studies showed that younger patients who underwent incompatible heart transplants fared just as well as those who had compatible transplants.
