Dean Foods unveils fuel-saving refrigeration truck

Dean Foods is working on a refrigeration unit that would decrease a refrigeration truck's diesel use by as much as 40%. This reduction, made possible by getting rid of a truck's second diesel engine, could be applied to a wide range of truck models. A 21-foot refrigeration truck prototype, unveiled by Dean Foods today, would save 21,000 pounds of carbon dioxide and $2,600 in fuel costs.
