Kindle, Nook price cuts signal ramp-up of e-reader competition

Amazon cut the price on a Kindle from $259 to $189 on Monday, only moments after Barnes & Noble announced it would start selling its Nook e-reader for $199 and introduce a Wi-Fi version of the device that sells for $149. Industry watchers say the introduction of Apple's iPad is behind the sudden activity in e-reader price wars.
