Kingfisher plans smaller store formats for city centres

Kingfisher has been experimenting with smaller stores in various town centres around Russia and France and is now looking to expand the strategy to its UK retail chain B&Q, according to CEO Ian Cheshire. "There's 60 catchments where there isn't a B&Q within 20 minute drive time where you have got more than 40,000 people," he said, noting that most were in market towns or densely populated regions.
