New eastern span of San Francisco Bay Bridge under way

The eastern span of San Francisco's Bay Bridge is beginning to take shape. The $6.3 billion project has been years in the making, but construction is now well under way. "The next two years are going to be amazing," said Bart Ney, a Caltrans spokesman. "It's going to go fast. There's no more foundation work and no more political bickering."
