Opinion: Iowa's investment in Deere is a "no-brainer"

Iowa's decision to approve about $15 million in tax credits to help John Deere's $90 million upgrade of its Waterloo plant so that the company could continue to make its own castings was a "no-brainer," writes Jim Offner. The company has been a financial staple in Iowa's Cedar Valley, and the deal will help Deere keep about 300 jobs in the state.
